Early stage is company building before the playbook exists: everything matters, nothing works yet, and the whole team fits in one room. I back founders there, at pre-seed and seed with Amity Ventures. Most VCs make ten bets a year. I go deep with a few founders, all-in on building the business together. Before this I was on the other side, scaling companies from the earliest stage to IPO: CFO at EvenUp and Flatfile, Square through IPO.
