About
I'm a partner at Amity Ventures, a concentrated seed fund in San Francisco. We lead one deal a year and go deep with the founders we back. That number is not a typo. One.
I got here the long way. Investment banking at Jefferies, then two years picking stocks at Citadel. In 2014 I joined Square's Finance & Strategy team and rode it from pre-IPO through the IPO, which taught me more about how companies actually work than the previous four years combined. Then Wharton for an MBA, with a summer detour to Nairobi where I built Branch's first financial model, got loan accounting past Kenyan auditors, and helped catch a fraud attack. After that, my first tour at Amity.
Then back into the building: CFO and COO at Flatfile through its Series A and B, and CFO at EvenUp from Series A through Series E. In 2025 I returned to Amity as a partner. My first investment was xFigura, where I sit on the board.
The through line: I've seen the whole arc from seed to IPO from inside the building, and I invest with empathy for how hard the middle parts are.
These days I spend an unreasonable amount of time building with AI. I run my back office on Claude Code, my family's meal planner is an app I made, and my executive assistant is not, strictly speaking, a person. Much of the writing here is about what that actually looks like in practice, including the parts that break at 2am.
I live in the East Bay with my wife and two kids. Off hours: tennis, lifting, EDM festivals, and video games. Yes, this site was vibe-coded. It felt like the only honest way to build it.
Reach me at andy@amity.vc, or find me on LinkedIn and X. If you're building something, I'd genuinely like to hear about it.
This is my personal site. Everything here is my own: views, opinions, and mistakes. Nothing is investment advice, and nothing is written on behalf of my firm.
